About this music

This is the cover version of the original sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Jagjit Singh from the Album “SAJDA” released about 15years ago. This is my daughter Priyanka’s first Ghazal.
I feel the quality of recording has been quite good….Now up to you all to give the correct feedback

Wonderful…..Yeah the recording has improved by leaps and bounds. Just a little tweak on equalization (especially to priyankas voice) would also have helped a lot. The singing sounds good…heard the ghazal for the first time, so cannot point out any deviations from the original…

Hi NVK … I agree with Sudhir about the recording. Much better. I think both your voice and Priyankas voice could use some equalization… a gain in the 1200-1600 Hz range… I am not familiar with song, but my wife tells me its as good as the original. It reminded her of her childhood days. Congrats to you both. Your voice is tailor made for ghazals!

Hi NVK ,

Great Rendition…Priyanka and you sounds great in DUET …in the Start Priyanka was striking little flat nites…but then she got the grip…For Priyanka, I would suggest to focu on pronounciation….I mean where to pronounce BOLD where to pronouce SLOW …..Letter like ‘CHA” ‘BHA’ , ‘PA’, ‘SA, should be improved..

NVK ,

Your voice sounds professional in this song. With few more rehearsals Priyanka could come upto to your standard. If she has the facility to listen to the track and her voice equally well while recording, her feel and shruthi would definitely improve.

Hi Guys…

Thanks a lot for the comments.

@Sudhir..

Glad that you liked it. Shall try to learn more about recording…

@George and Mrs. George…

Very glad you heard this one despite not really some thing of interest to you. Some songs are like that – more than the song, you tend to enjoy the memories it brings along with it.

@Shashank…

Great feeling to get a comment like this from you. Priyanka needs to concentrate on the diction very much..Surprising why so, despite she being a Mumbai bred girl…

@Sriram –

Thanks for the suggestion about listening to the song while.singing . Shall try and see next time…

@Kumaran….

The Ghazal “Baat saaqui ki” is not familiar to me. However I will get it from the web and learn it for you…Not everyone makes a farmaaish…lol. I feel flattered. Thanks Kumaran…

Thanks once again to all of you.

NVK ,

About Priyanka’s pronounciation, Its not about where are you from…These things are about Singing Dynamicsand need to be learned very carefully…I would suggest to take help of Some expert on pronounciation…:D

Good Job but ! Wonder, Why Priyanka does not have her own account…

Shashank…

I agree with you about the diction …Though I did say about her upbringing in Muimbai, I do agree with you that it has hardly anything to do with the accuracy in the diction…

As regards the separate account for Priyanka, with me sitting in front of the only computer in the house all the time , it will not make any difference….lol

Sir, your sing is soulful and professional as usual! Priyanka needs to sing with more confidence. She was almost perfect in the last stanza. But in the begenning and at many places her pitching is not tight. Also she could give a little vibrato and loosten up her notes (without losing the pitching of course) a little bit to get in the mood of the song and blend the notes into the music than singing the notes straight without any vibrato. You would know better.

Hi Krishnan….

I would say that your voice very closely remembers Jagjit Singh….

Please try to sing Gazals like “Tumko dekha toe yeh khayal aaya” and “Tum itna jo muskra raho”. I am sure you will render them as well as you have rendered the other songs.

Hi Sourabh…

Thanka a lot for the comments on the Ghazal. Glad to note that you liked it…

I note what you have written about the P in “Pardon mein..”. I think it was slightly louder than needed…

Thanks for the comments once again..
