Its nice efforts…I thought you could have taken one more loop on THIRD note of both the chords…I mean you had 2 loops with 2 notes in chords…But I could suggest a 3rd loop with 3rd note in chords…I mean Tune could have been composd more and in different way…

Thnx Shahshank. The whole idea was to put in two chords, with tune variations. I dint want to extend it to the third one and link with the other song. Third would make it sound like a progression. I tried to ignore that!!!

Sunny and Deepak very good attempt.
Even with 2 chords you can sound different by going with chord inversions :) But the important part the melody has to be strong.

Awesome stuff guys ! Deepak u should sing some more..u have an awesome voice !! however on the western vocals..u could try and improve the pronociations a bit..however the vocals sounded a lot progressive to me.The western vocal on indian scales is awesome !!
Sunny did u use a lot of panning on the drums…great mix and the fretless bass ..
maybe u could extend it with female vocals on the hindi part with deepak on the western..
guitar tone could improve a bit..perhaps a little more presence or mid freq..it sounded a little electronic for some wierd reason

I agree with Sudeip. There should be the female extension with the portion sung by Kavita Krishnamoorthy added to this. It would sound great.

Sudeip. I am happy that u liked it. Drums are panned. Just to give that stereo Spread feel. I agree about the guitars. Actually those are sequenced ones. The VST wich i use for guitars generally, created some issues when i did the track. So i had to use a small time TONE . Even this 64kbps conversion kills the mids to an extent. Not complaining or explaining, but just conveying this to u:)

Female vocals we thought of, but the problem was that we started before 25 odd days. And i dint want to wait further. 20 days Deepak was in Delhi and even i am too busy till date. We cldnt upload anything for the last month. So thought to go ahead with it. Mostly will try a female and upload this again by next week.

Yeah and fretless, thats my specialty. I have a special software for bass and i try to use maximum of its facilities. Sounds fake though, but a little bit different…

I think Ganesh had a good comment about the possible chord inversions.

The only thing that distracted me a little was that the fretless bass playing predominantly in my right earplug. That threw me off a bit as a listener. Or maybe it was panned a bit to the left and to the right of centre, but it kept ending up to the right. Maybe the imbalance/tension created was intentional. :)

Thnx Nitin…Yeah its was kept simple for the reason, that its based on two chords. That bass has two components. The one which is on the lft side dsnt reacts much to the velocity curve, and so i had to decrease it at the time of midi sequencing itself. i was supposed to make it more like a Mono centre sound. When I was mixing, I felt it in a new way. So i left it like that. After all, music has no bounds. i will correct it for u if i do something more on it!!

The person whose singing the line ‘only you can feel this pain….. again’
is making some mistakes in english pronounciation and accent…

when you sing the word ‘can’ and the word ‘to’ you doing it wrong. you see you need to sound ‘c’ like ‘kh’ example .. can → k’h’an….
similarily ‘t’ should sound little like ‘th’
time → t’h’ime

You know what I mean.

Also the word ‘again’ needs a little accent.

Ronak, thanks for ur reply. First thing…I hate REASON and its sounds from the bottom of my Heart :) I use Nuendo for my audio as well as midi\VST sequencing software. All the grooves and synths were all programmed and not loops :) Thought to do an extension, but why to take someone elses song? This was done just to show that lot of works can be done, even being musically limited!!! So will try and get female vocals also done and will even try to link some more songs to these 2 chords.

Thanks sourabh for taking time. Whatever i did was kindof a final track (improvements have to be done in the mix for sure), but vocals need not stand out in any song. We must be able to figure out what the words are, and in my view, thats sufficient coz this is like a produced version and not Unplugged :)

Hey Sumit, Thanks a ton for digging so deep into the song.. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to get into the minute details.. After reading your comments, I just heard the track once again, here on Muziboo.. Indeed there are pronunciation issues here!! However when I listen to my original 192kbps recording, it doesn’t sound like errors on the spots that you pointed out.. I found that the culprit was the encoding.. I now know how much of a difference it can make.. I had sung the high pitch being a little away from the mic, so the vocals there, were already on a lower level.. To add to that, when it was encoded at this low rate, it killed the minute details.. These vocals were done in U.S. accent though.. For your reference, I have added a link for the 192 kbps version.. I do not agree with different suggestions of three cords, female extensions, etc. Innovations are meant to be unique and you’ve been immensely successful at that. Just loved what I heard. The only flaw to me was the recording. I felt it to be a tad soft. Again, that’s just my feeling. Sorry, I could be wrong. Full marks to Sunny for being so innovative and Deepak for rendering something unique. Keep the good work rolling, guys. All the best.

Hi Deepak,...great idea…good voice..i felt 2 things could have been better wen i heard the song..firstly…accent in the 5 and 6 th lines..probably..a change in the tune would have made things easier for u becoz u sounded perfectly fine in the first two lines..so i feel that wasnt the problem with ur diction,but the ease…
andd….the hindi version …u carried the angrezi accent to it… :)...not sure if it sounds better the other way…comparitively…i lke the english one in ur voice..

Hey.. Thanks a lot for your comments.. Yeah, the 5th and 6th lines were too high for me to record at home.. You know “Waking up the neighbors” thingy?? he he.. As far as hindi part is concerned, it was done purposefully.. You would also hear the lines ending with vibrato.. To be honest, we just wanted to cut all the wires lose and try out something weird, something new and something totally different.. You would hear the bass, its different too.. :P

By the way, let me take this opportunity to say something about Sravanti.. Yes, we don’t know each other personally but when it comes to music, I know how good she is!! She has got an amazing voice.. I should consider myself lucky that I got to listen to her song!! Sravanti, I hope to see something upload here for the Muzibians to have a feast.. So what are we waiting for? :D

enjoyed the 2 chord concept. nice mix Sunny. very ambient feel to it. i like your voice Deepak. it’s instantly likeable.

i felt the only weak link were the english lyrics, even if they were written in only 2 minutes. don’t mean to sound harsh but they were a little cheesy.
