About this music
This is an oldie that is probably not familiar to many. However the context of this song is familiar to most of us guys. It basically talks about how we guys don’t mind being taken for a ride by a good looking girl. It is based on a true story where the lead singer of the group (Jim Peterik) fell for a girl and after 6 months of dating, the girl dumped him. A few months later he got a call from her asking him for a lift. He didn’t even hesitate in offering the lift and this continued for a long time. Even though he knew she was using him, he didn’t mind being her Vehicle. Hence the song. By the way, for those of you who are interested to know how the story ended, the two of them got married :-) She decided to get back together with him after the song became a number 1 hit!
Enjoy the song
Lyrics:
Hey, well I’m the friendly stranger
In the black sedan
Oh won’t you hop inside my car?
I got pictures, got candy, I am a lovable man
I’d like to take you to the nearest star
I’m your vehicle baby
I’ll take you anywhere you wanna go
I’m your vehicle woman
By now I’m sure you know
That I love ya (love you)
Need ya (need you)
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven, you know I love you
Well if you want to be a movie star
I got the ticket to Hollywood
Well if you want to stay just like you are
You know I think you really should
I’m your vehicle baby
I’ll take you anywhere you wanna go
I’m your vehicle woman
By now I’m sure you know
That I love ya (love you)
I need ya (need you)
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven you know I love you
Oh you know I do
Well I’m the friendly stranger
In the black sedan
Oh won’t you hop inside my car?
I got pictures, got candy, I am a lovable man
I’d like to take you to the nearest star
I’m your vehicle baby
I’ll take you anywhere you wanna go
I’m your vehicle woman
By now I’m sure you know
That I love ya (love you)
I need ya (need you)
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven you know I love you
And I’m your vehicle babe
Oooh
You know I love ya (love you)
I need ya (need you)
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven you know I love you
