I recorded a version of this classic for my Grandfather’s memorial service. His name was Randy Gerrard and he was an inspiration – an amazing man who will be dearly missed by friends and family. I personalized the song using places we would remember after spending many a summer with him and our Grandma out on Martha’s Vineyard. Lindy Jeans is a great little diner down the street. Ocean Park is right across from the water and is where they have fireworks every year. Flying Horses is the oldest working carousel in the US. The giant oak trees in the Gingerbread cottage area would drop acorns on the roofs at night. Shel Silverstein used to have a cottage around the corner and my Grandfather would bring him clams and share stories. So many memories. -Chris
I’ll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.
Lindy Jean’s cafe;
The Ocean Park across the way;
Flying Horses carousel;
The old oak trees;
Poems by Shel.
I’ll be seeing you
In every lovely summer’s day;
In every thing that’s light and gay.
I’ll always think of you that way.
I’ll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I’ll be looking at the moon,
But I’ll be seeing you.
